QUOKKA PROJECT 1, PROTOCOL PAPER PUBLISHED IN SPECIAL ISSUE OF CHILDREN

A paper authored by Renee Jones et al, describing the study protocol for a paediatric multi-instrument comparison study (P-MIC) has recently been published in a special issue of Children. The paper details the protocol for QUOKKA Project 1 (QUOKKA P-MIC study), which is led by Associate Professor Kim Dalziel from the Health Economics Unit, University of Melbourne in collaboration with Professor Harriet Hiscock from Health Services at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI), in addition to doctors at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne and Associate Professor Brendan Mulhern at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

This QUOKKA P-MIC study is investigating the psychometric performance of a number of health related quality of life (HRQol) instruments in addition to 9 disease specific HRQoL instruments in an Australian paediatric population (covering a range of health conditions, from well to severe). Data collection is currently underway with the subsequent data analysis aiding in better understanding the performance of these instruments to help identify the best HRQoL measures for future use in paediatric populations.
